Travel

I have a bit of a wanderlust problem – and for that I blame my parents. I was very much raised in a “fuck yeah, travel!” environment and so it is something that I think is absolutely vital to my existence. I’ve been very lucky in that I’ve already been to a lot of cool places but there’s still so much out there I’d love to experience.

My top 5 favourite places (in countries I haven’t lived):

  • Reykjavik, Iceland
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Lucerne, Switzerland
  • Florence, Italy
  • Paris, France

I absolutely love travelling, but I tend to dislike fellow travellers. This is a hangover from being a really obnoxious flyer, for which I make no apologies. I will complain about this a lot. I try, I really do, but I just can’t get over it. I’ve spent more time on planes and in airports than I can count, and frankly, you get a little sick of all the idiots. My dad, I should point out, works in the aviation industry.

I have a separate blog called Savannah Sunset for all my thoughts on places I’ve been and where I still want to go. Deep down I think I still harbour some desire to be a travel writer, so this is the best way I can scratch that itch.

In 2012, my friend and I embarked on a three month backpacking adventure around mainland Europe. Hilarity, as they say, ensued. Being so hip and modern, we of course blogged about it as we went, so you can also check that out over here. For propriety’s sake, y’know.
